Valentine Celebration, February 9th!

As a lot of you will recall, we held a Valentine fundraiser last year for the "I Believe" dog rescue. On the eve of the fundraiser, Missy Donaldson tragically lost her home and animals in a terrible fire. Missy is staying with her folks, and is feeling much better. And yes, the rescue work continues. As most of you know, this is where I adopted my sweet Rosa. So... enough said, let the Valentine celebration begin!
The love and care of sick and neglected animals knows no season. February 9th, The Cottage will be helping to fund this great organization. We will be accepting donations of pet food, collars, leashes, etc., and most importantly monetary donations for well deserving animals to receive the veterinary care that they need. I am passionate about this cause. Look into Rosa's eyes and you'll see what I mean! LOVE!
The Cottage will be hosting its third Valentine luncheon! At 11:30AM, Missy will be joining us! And that's just the beginning of a fun filled day. For only $10.00, you'll be able to paint your own Valentine ornament! We have a number of images to help you, or you can put your own artistic talents to work. Anyone can do this, it's easy. This will truly be a one of a kind "I love you!" Keep in mind birthdays, anniversaries, and yes, even Christmas. This is great for the kids too! Valentine spells fun!
Okay, so we're going to enjoy lunch, paint Fenton ornaments AND let's have a Valentine card decorating contest!! Valentine cards can be whimsical, funny, beautiful (like from the days gone by) and open to all ages.
Get out the construction paper, glue, lace -- whatever it takes to make your special card. Mail or drop of your cards at the Glass Cottage. All entries should be received by February 6th. We will adorn our windows with your talents! The Glass Cottage will be awarding $50.00 gift certificates: one for ages 12 and under, and yup, you guessed it, 12 and over. This means adults too!
And of course, shop for beautiful Fenton Art Glass! When you check out, you'll be able to draw for a discount of 10, 20 or even 30% off your entire purchase!!!
And now Lucy, are you going to have a Valentine drawing? You bet! Enter to win the "Verlys Birds" bowl, in Aubergine. This Connoisseur Collection piece is valued at $185.00!!!
OK, so it's food, fun, food, meet Missy, lunch (food), paint an ornament, food, shop for fabulous Fenton, food, enter to win a Valentine drawing, and food.
Can't wait to have you join us February 9th!
Snow date will be February 10th.

Dear Fenton Customers,
As most of you know, the Fenton Company announced that at the end of 2007 it would be shutting down its long running glass making plant. But... after long time avid Fenton collectors heard the news, they scrambled to add as many as they could of their favorite pieces to their personal collections. Thus, the demand was huge. It is with great anticipation that we announce Fenton will be making a limited line for 2008!
(See it by clicking here) And yes, we are very excited! The thought of all these talented craftsmen not carrying on the great Fenton tradition was almost too much to bear, especially for a 30 plus year collector such as myself. Shipment for the 2008 line is supposed to start in February. Per usual, there are some fabulous pieces. They are announcing a brand new color, Hyacinth. From all pictures this is a gorgeous color, almost like a lavender-blue. In this line, we will have many different vase designs, baskets, pitchers, a paisley candy box and delightful figurines. And of course, there will be numerous figurines in a rainbow of other colors. And yes, we will welcome spring with a truly delightful Easter line. Colors fresh, alluring and very sweet. And yes, Fenton will be continuing the tradition with some Mary Gregory pieces in Sky Blue and Aubergine. The thought of never having pieces like this again was almost unbearable. There will besome Kelsey Murphy pieces, and of course the fantastic Dave Fetty will continue to amaze us with his glassmaking talents.
We have worked very hard at The Cottage to keep the store stocked and beautiful. We are always adding vintage and current pieces. The shop is GORGEOUS!

Sincerely,

Lucy Clemons
